A composition about descent. The colour changes with height: clear and colourless above, drifting into smoky blue lower down, near-graphite at the very bottom. The transition is gradual, without boundaries — this is how light diminishes in a body of water, and it diminishes here in the same way.

Clusters of differing height and diameter form a dense diamond-shaped volume, broad at the middle and pointed at top and bottom. The whole mass reads as one body, not as a set of parts.

By day it is organ pipes suspended below the ceiling — vertical hatching, austere and resonant. In the evening the upper tiers glow bright and white while the lower ones absorb the light and stay cold: from below the composition looks like a cloud lit only at the top. An iceberg lit from its summit.

Where it works

Generous volumes — atria, lobbies, stairwells, double-height living rooms, banquet halls. The gradient exists only across a substantial vertical: in a low room it has no space to unfold.

Style

Contemporary minimalism and Nordic aesthetics: the vertical, the cold and monotony as devices. The message is monumental — architecture rather than decoration.
