Light as art

Lighting composition

LC0519

A composition about an inverted city. Faceted obelisks descend in dense formation — the towers of a Gothic city turned spires down. The formation reads as ceremonial, almost musical: an organ assembled out of light.

The double temperature is the composition's signature move: light enters through the gold pin and runs out along the facets, the clear mass flares cold while the finial stays warm. Gold and ice argue and balance each other.

By day it is a formation of clear spires with gold tops — a piece read through facets and rhythm, strict and formal. In the evening the cold and the warm separate for good: the mass fills with ice, the pins burn gold, and the city glows in two colours at once.

Where it works

Formal verticals — staircases, atriums, entrance groups, double-height lobbies. The formation is designed for a specific height.

Style

Gothic in a contemporary reading and Art Deco: the spire as a symbol of aspiration. The message is ceremonial — a piece for a building that greets.

The number of spires, their lengths and the proportion of gold are all made to order.
