A composition about a face and a reverse. Outside the petals are deep graphite, inside milky white: the dark contour holds the form, the pale interior fills it. That one device makes the sphere volumetric with no relief at all.

The flower heads are built from dozens of narrow petals and hang as a cluster, turned in different directions as on a real bush.

By day it is graphite spheres with glimpses of white in the depth — a dense piece read through silhouette and contrast. In the evening the light comes out of the core between the petals, and every flower becomes a soft lantern with a petal filter: dark outside, burning within.

Where it works

Above a table, in a bedroom, in a private living room; in large spaces it gathers into whole flowerbeds. The dark outer side asks for a pale background so the silhouette can read.

Style

Dark luxe and natural Art Nouveau: the chrysanthemum in a graphite register. The message is intimate and evening-bound — a piece for an interior with a mood.
