A composition about a vertical repeated hundreds of times. Tubes of different lengths hang on thin cables, each closed at both ends by gold collars. Milky white tubes alternate with clear ones, and the field reads as uneven hatching: light strokes mixed with almost invisible ones.

The same tubes gather into different figures: a broad field with a sagging centre, a wave, a spiral running down a stairwell, a cone narrowing towards the bottom. The lower edge is drawn by the different hanging heights.

By day the milky tubes read as soft white stripes, while the clear ones catch highlights and almost disappear. In the evening the white tubes glow along their whole length, in the clear ones the light gathers at the collar, and the field separates into glowing columns and fine sparks.

Where it works

Double-height living rooms, atriums, stairwells, restaurant halls. The field grows from a group of a few dozen tubes to hundreds under the whole ceiling, and the shape is designed for a specific volume and viewpoint.
