Decorative composition
LC0108
A composition about a rain of stones. The curtain is not regular: some strands descend deep, others break off high, and the spacing of the beads differs on each. The top is level, the lower edge ragged — this is how something heavier than water falls, at differing speeds.
The main mass is a subdued green, with colourless clear beads set among it. The calibres vary — from large spheres to fine crumbs — and that too is about falling: large things fall differently from small ones.
By day it is a green veil — dense, subdued, working through colour and reflection. In the evening the light runs down the strands from above and enters every bead: the facets break it and scatter it in sparks, the green ones fill with a deep tone, the colourless flare white. The light passes through several layers and loses its source — the whole volume glows. A rain of precious stones.
Where it works
Generous volumes — atria, lobbies, stairwells, banquet and wedding halls. The curtain is installed without interfering with the walls and covers tall openings easily.
Style
Art Deco and Eastern opulence: stones on a strand as a classic of formal decoration. The message is generous — a piece for a space that celebrates.
The overall size, the strand spacing, the palette of the beads and the calibres are all made to order.
