A composition about a pond in the rain. The discs hang almost flat — leaves on water; the threads run to the ceiling in dense hatching — the downpour above them. Two images laid over one another: a rainstorm with leaves suspended inside it.

The pyramid is wide at the top and narrows below, where single discs drop far down on their own. Small faceted beads are scattered between them.

By day it is a pool with floating leaves: deep blue-violet mixed with colourless, read through colour and ribbing. In the evening light enters each disc at the rim and runs out along the ribs, so every one glows radially from centre to edge — the blue ones fill with dense ultramarine, the colourless flash white, and the beads break the light into sparks. Night water lit from beneath.

Where it works

Generous rooms with high ceilings — atria, lobbies, stairwells, pools and spas. The pyramidal build needs height.

Style

Art Nouveau and Japanese water aesthetics: the water lily as a classic motif. The message is contemplative and cool — a piece for interiors near water.
