A composition about three behaviours of one beam. White gloss, polished gold and clear are mixed without system, so at any point in the composition all three fall side by side. That is exactly what keeps the mass uneven: it never looks flat.

The bowl is deep, the mass dense below and thinned above, where single petals break away and hang alone among the hatching of threads with small point lights.

By day it is an armful of petals suspended below the ceiling: white, gold and clear intermixed, read through the plasticity of the crumpled edge. In the evening the white petals diffuse the light and glow evenly, the gold ones reflect and flare hot, the clear ones transmit it and throw icy sparks. A cloud in which light behaves differently at every point.

Where it works

Formal spaces — lobbies, double-height living rooms, banquet and wedding halls, atria. The deep bowl needs height: pressed to the ceiling it loses its volume.

Style

Contemporary Art Deco and Hollywood glamour: three finishes instead of ornament. The message is festive — a piece for an interior that loves shine.
