A glacier at sunset — two states of water in one composition. The blue crystals read as ice, the amber ones as arrested sun, and together they give what the mountains give for ten minutes a day.

The faceting is large, with broad planes, as on an unworked mineral. Every crystal is lit from within, so the colour lives in the mass itself rather than lying on the surface.

By day it is a mineralogical display case — cold, precise, collectable. In the evening it becomes a wall of ice lit through its whole thickness, with something warm sensed behind it.

A vertical, formal format: staircases, atriums, entrance groups, double-height living rooms, hotel lobbies.

Style

Contemporary luxury and alpine opulence: stone, wood, large windows, long views. The message is the grandeur of nature brought down to domestic scale.
