A composition about the sun caught in the flesh. The glow sits right at the stalk of every fruit — where a real olive holds its stone. The light turns out to be inside, like a kernel.

Fruits ranging from soft lime to deep emerald hang in clusters among gold leaves twisted by the wind. The clusters gather loosely: a dense harvest at the centre, occasional drops at the edges.

By day it is the Mediterranean in pure form: gold foliage, green fruit, a bubbled mass against the light. In the evening a warm point comes on inside every fruit and the cluster fills — the green turns succulent and the leaves pick up the reflected glow.

Where it works

Above a dining table, in a winter garden, in a kitchen-dining room, in spaces that want the south. The loose cluster is assembled for a specific plan.

Style

Mediterranean classicism and Art Nouveau: the olive branch as the oldest of motifs. The message is warm and southern — a piece for an interior that loves the sun.
