A composition about shedding. The garland sags at the centre and opens upward — the form of something stretched between two points, alive, with a sag from its own weight. Large flowers with sharp radiating petals sit on the arcs, with leaves scattered between them.

The essential thing here is that some of the leaves break away from the mass and hang lower, singly, on fine threads. A light train forms beneath the composition: flowering is shown not at its peak but at the moment it has already begun to fall. Beauty with a stated term.

By day it is a flowering branch lifted to the ceiling — white with gold, festive graphics. In the evening the petals light up entirely, from within, with no visible source; the gold leaves give pinpoint flares, the white ones stay soft patches. The garland becomes a cloud of light with sparks slowly falling from it.

Where it works

A format for formal spaces: lobbies, double-height living rooms, banquet and wedding halls, atria. It asks for length — hung along a table or across a volume, between two fixing points.

Style

Romantic Art Nouveau and ceremonial classicism. The message is ceremonial — a piece for a space where people gather for an occasion.
