A composition about a leaf that has already lain a while. Each element is slightly crumpled and rolled at the edge — not flat, but the shape a leaf takes after a day on the ground. The author takes not the moment of falling but what comes after: leaf-fall already settled.

The leaves hang at varied levels, turned at random, bunching in places and flying off alone far from the mass in others. Warm gold with patina is mixed with cool matte silver — a difference in age, not in species.

By day it is a leaf-fall caught in a frame: the crumpled surfaces give ragged highlights, and the composition shimmers as the viewer moves. In the evening the gold leaves reflect the light and flare warm, the silver ones diffuse it and stay subdued. A heap of leaves with light breaking out from beneath.

Where it works

Generous rooms — lobbies, stairwells, double-height living rooms, winter gardens. The scattered elements extend beyond the main envelope: allow clearance to the sides.
