A composition about a summer night in a vineyard. The roles here are strictly divided: the foliage gives form and shadow, the fireflies give light. The leaves stay subdued and reflect only what reaches them from below — exactly as real foliage does in the dark.

The leaf form carries drawn lobes and venation, each one slightly crumpled and rolled at the edge. Small winged figures are set among them, unevenly distributed.

By day it is a vine thicket lifted to the ceiling — subdued green patina mixed with warm bronze and gold wear. In the evening every figure gives its own bright point with a radiant halo, while the foliage around it stays dark and is only lit from beneath. A vineyard full of fireflies.
