Decorative composition
LC0095
A composition about tearing. The fragments are torn and crushed: ragged edges, deep creases, not one correct geometric line. The object must read as what is left after a tear, not as something assembled — and every decision serves that.
The fragments hang at varied levels, turned at random, arranged in no order at all. The calibres differ, from large down to fine crumbs: a scatter always sorts by mass.
By day it is an explosion of foil — gold mixed with matte silver, a random pattern, nothing predictable. In the evening not every fragment glows but one in five: the crumpled gold reflects the light in bands along the folds, the silver subdues it, and most of the mass stays dark. It is precisely that selectiveness that creates the impression of movement — a field of shards with occasional flares.
Where it works
Generous rooms with high ceilings — lobbies, atria, gallery spaces, double-height living rooms. A scatter needs air: pressed together, the composition turns into a heap.
Style
Contemporary art and brutalist luxury: the aesthetics of destruction, executed expensively. The message is bold — a piece for an interior unafraid of being abrupt.
The overall size, the number of fragments and the ratio of gold to silver are all made to order.
