A composition about a frozen downpour. Hundreds of needles point downward, gathered into a dense shallow bowl — thicker at the middle, sparser at the edges. This is rain with its time taken away: the drops have already drawn out in falling but have never touched the floor.

The element is double: a gold cone tip-up above, a clear spike below on a base textured like broken ice. A spindle, an icicle grown under a metal cap — the form reads several ways at once.

By day it is a gold field: from below only the cones are visible, and the composition looks metallic and dense. In the evening the light passes from the gold into the clear spike, which carries it the whole length and flares at the point, while the icy base scatters part of it sideways. The field of needles becomes a downpour caught an instant before it lands.

Generous rooms with high ceilings — lobbies, atria, double-height living rooms, banquet halls. It is seen from below, so height matters more than area.

Style

Grand classicism in contemporary execution: the same logic as a large cascade chandelier, but without a single faceted drop. The message is ceremonial — a piece for a space that makes an impression.
