A composition about the moment of stopping. A spinning top exists only while it spins; a stationary top falls over. The author catches it in an impossible state: motionless and upright at once, suspended in the air.

The form is built from three parts: a flattened disc with a broken-ice texture at the middle, a short cone above, a long sharp spike below. The elements hang on gold tubes of varying length, with empty tubes between them — they work as hatching and give the composition depth, hollows and gatherings.

By day it is a set of clear instruments — precise, cool, almost laboratory forms. In the evening every element gives two different glows at once: the icy texture of the disc scatters light in fine sparks, while the smooth spike carries it onward and lights up at the very tip. A swarm of tops glowing in the dark.

Where it works

Living rooms with high ceilings, stairwells, lobbies, zones above a round table. The multi-level arrangement needs height — the composition builds in depth, not in width.

Style

Contemporary classicism and precise minimalism: geometry instead of decoration. The message is intellectual — a piece for someone who values the idea over the effect.
