Water frozen together with everything that was in it. Inside each element there is a suspension: bubbles, sparks, grains, as though the sea had frozen before it could let go of the plankton.

The form is reduced to a minimum — a smooth cylinder, a smooth lens, not one gesture. All the work is given to the depth: the blue elements damp the light and hold shadow, the clear ones multiply it, and the field comes out layered, with hollows and flares.

The intent here is not in the form but in the state: the composition does not depict water, it reproduces the sensation of looking through a body of it.

By day it is a clear mass with a suspension inside — a piece read through depth and layers, calm and cold. In the evening the blue elements damp the light and hold shadow, the clear ones multiply it, and the field comes alive with hollows and flares: a look through water at dusk.
