A composition about a fragility that turns out to be stronger than stone. A dragonfly lives one season, but its silhouette has not changed in two hundred million years — that paradox became the intent of the object.

The wings hold their transparency to the limit: light does not bounce off them, it goes through, developing the drawing of the veins the way film is developed. The bodies stay dense and dark — they do not glow, they give the wings their support.

The vertical is assembled without symmetry: each figure is turned its own way, and the swarm reads not as a formation but as an instant — what came before and what comes after is left outside the frame.

By day it is graphic work — the fine drawing of veins on a transparent wing, the bodies read as dark strokes. In the evening the wings light up against the light while the bodies stay blind: the swarm glows by its wings, suspended in the dark.

Where it works

The narrow vertical format suits stair flights, wall piers, zones beside a window, studies and private libraries — wherever the object is looked at closely and for a long time.

Style

Art Nouveau: the composition comes from the same aesthetic as Tiffany's stained glass and Lalique's jewelled brooches. The message is collectorly — a piece for someone who values a naturalistic detail and is willing to study it.
