A composition about structure visible only against the light. Thin plates with a pronounced fibrous structure read by day as simply pale — all their complexity is hidden and opens up only when lit from behind.

Each plate is bowed in an arc, several overlapping to form a single sail. The tiers are laid over one another, overlapping in places. The palette drifts from cool milky grey to warm honey — the transition runs horizontally, left to right.

By day the composition reads as a heap of shells: soft, pale, working through form and overlap. In the evening the light passes through the material and reveals the whole fibrous structure — every plate becomes a map of veins. Outward the light emerges soft and diffuse, without a single bright point: a cloud in which every scale glows.

Where it works

Generous rooms with high ceilings — atria, lobbies, double-height living rooms, banquet halls. The tiering needs height: in a low room the layers merge.

Style

Organic minimalism and the Japanese aesthetics of paper: light through the material rather than light within it. The message is quiet — a piece for an interior that does not argue.
