A composition about the broken link. No ring is closed — a section is missing from each, and it is precisely in that gap that the light bursts out as a bright point. A chain that holds nothing, because every one of its links has been cut.

The shapes vary: some rings are round, some drawn into ovals, some almost hexagonal. They hang at varied levels, threaded through one another to form couplings; the upper half is taken by a sparse hatching of bare cables, with the whole mass gathered below.

By day it is a set of clear links — thick outlines on gold holders, read through highlights. In the evening the light enters at the fixing point and travels the whole ring like a lightguide, tracing it with a fine glowing line, then bursts out as a point at the break. An interlacing of luminous loops suspended in emptiness — a chain assembled out of light.

Where it works

An elongated horizontal format — long dining tables, bar counters, meeting rooms, lobbies. The couplings read in the round: the piece is designed for a view from the side.

Style

Contemporary minimalism and jewellery modernism: the link as the unit of composition. The message is spare — a piece for an interior that chooses one strong idea.
