A composition about a sheaf. The ribbons stand almost upright, layered and overlapping, ragged at the top and tapering below — this is how a sheaf is tied: caught at the base and left to open above.

Each ribbon is bent and twisted in its own way, with sharp cut ends. The ribbing is hidden on the reverse; outside there is only clean gloss — the piece shows its face and hides its lining.

By day it is a sheaf of paper ribbons: white gloss read through light, shadow and overlap, light and graphic. In the evening the light escapes through the narrow gaps and lights the ribbed undersides — a white glow stands inside the composition while the outside stays glossy, and at the cut ends the light flares into bright points. A reed bed lit from within.

Where it works

Living rooms with high ceilings, stairwells, lobbies, atria. The vertical sheaf needs height rather than floor area.

Style

Scandinavian minimalism and organic modernism: the sheaf as a form without decoration. The message is clean and bright — a piece for a white palette.
