Wall composition
LC0011
A composition about a cross-section. Concentric arcs around an off-centre point draw close, then open to reveal the ground — a tree ring, a fingerprint, ripples on water. The ambiguity is deliberate: what all three share is that the pattern cannot be repeated; it is always unique.
The form is broken open: the composition occupies not a full circle but a crescent with one side cut away. Because of that it never reads as a closed target — it reads as a fragment of something larger.
By day the panel works as metalwork graphics: polished bronze with gold and copper shifts, a mirrored surface in which each band reflects its neighbour, so an endless exchange of highlights builds up in the depth. In the evening the backlight emerges from behind the plates and grazes them at a sharp angle, bringing out the whole relief: a cross-section lit from within.
Where it works
Feature walls — halls, stair landings, private living rooms, reception areas, gallery spaces. The open form suits a long wall: the cut side runs out beyond the field of view.
Style
Art Deco and contemporary sculpture: the concentric pattern as a classic motif. The message is expressive — a picture-object for a wall that needs nothing else.
The overall size, the number of bands, the ring spacing and the metal finish are all made to order.
