A composition about a wingbeat. Two broad wings open upward and outward; between them the mass thickens and trails downward, where the rods thin to singles. All of them run along the movement — one beat, caught in a frame.

The rods hang almost horizontally, layered and overlapping. The large irregular faceting gives each its own pattern of refraction; colourless ice mixes with warm gold.

By day it is an icy flock — a clear mass with gold inclusions, read through the shape of the wing. In the evening the faceting breaks the light and scatters it along each rod, so the layers glow in strokes: the gold sections fill with warmth, the icy ones flash white. At the fold of the wing, where the rods are densest, the glow is at its strongest — a wing assembled out of light.

Where it works

Generous rooms with high ceilings — atria, lobbies, stairwells, double-height living rooms. The wingspan needs width: the piece is designed for the specific volume.

Style

Contemporary sculptural installation and grand classicism. The message is monumental — a piece that sets the scale of a room.
