The same shoal, but moving in one direction. There is no ring here — a dense horizontal mass, hundreds of individuals in tiers, all heading the same way. The shoal is not defending itself; it is migrating.

The upper zone of the composition is left empty: only the net of cables. The device makes the shoal appear to be moving under its own power rather than hanging.

By day it is graphics on the ceiling — narrow silhouettes read through outline, a silvery subdued mass. In the evening it turns out there are markedly fewer gold fish than clear ones, and they read as individuals that have caught the sun: they light up whole while the rest give only a flare along the rim. This is exactly how a real shoal looks in a body of water — a handful flare, thousands stay shadow.

Where it works

Generous rooms — lobbies, atria, pools and spas, panoramic living rooms. The composition is drawn along one axis, so it is oriented along the main line of movement.
