A composition about a downpour under a spotlight. Narrow faceted lancets descend in a dense vertical cascade several storeys deep — hundreds of arrows with one direction and differing lengths.
The cathedral solemnity here comes not from decor but from scale and repetition.
By day it is a clear and smoky amber cascade: the facets catch daylight and scatter it, a piece read through brilliance and depth. In the evening light enters from above and runs down the facets — the cascade glitters entire, like rain caught in a beam.
Where it works
Staircases and atriums. A large formal piece: the composition is designed for a specific height and reads differently from every floor.
Selection by space: Stairwell · Atrium
Style
Formal classicism in a contemporary execution: a cascade without a single conventional faceted pendant. The message is ceremonial — a piece for a building that greets.
The number of arrows, the height of the cascade and the palette are all made to order.
