A composition about a mercury icicle. A mirrored funnel draws out into the finest of tails — a form in which everything runs downward and ends in a point. The cluster is assembled points down, densely, without a single gap.

The composition is monochrome and hypnotic for it: only shine, light and the vertical. Not one colour, not one texture — a piece reduced to three qualities.

By day it is a mirrored mass that shows not itself but the room: the neighbouring stems reflect in one another and the drawing changes with every step. In the evening the light burns in the funnels and runs down the mirrored surface, breaking up in the reflections — the cluster begins to seem liquid.

Contemporary interiors with high ceilings — lobbies, double-height living rooms, showrooms, boutiques. A mirror works where there is something to reflect: the composition needs surroundings.
