Lighting composition
LC0441
A composition about a liana. The spiral grows from the top down, putting out large leaves — the way a plant reaches in a conservatory when it has nothing to catch on and can only hang.
The leaves with their lifelike turns face in different directions; the points of light sit on the spiral between them.
By day it is white and gold on a vertical axis — botany rendered in two finishes, a graphic and formal piece. In the evening the light lifts the underside of the leaves in a warm tone: the gloss catches fire from below while the spiral goes into shadow — what remains is a liana glowing from its reverse.
Where it works
Stairwells, bay windows, tall niches, winter gardens. The vertical requires height and reads as you walk around it.
Style
Art Nouveau and conservatory classicism: the liana as a motif. The message is alive and warm — a piece for an interior with greenery.
The height of the vine, the density of the foliage and the number of lights are all made to order.
