A composition about a stained-glass window taken out of a wall. The engraving repeats the architecture of old cathedrals: lancet windows, openwork façades, round rose windows, spires reaching upward. Every plate is a window released into the air.

Elements in four heights are composed freely: a dense vertical cascade, a horizontal field beneath the ceiling, or a gallery of hovering windows along a wall.

By day it is graphic work — a fine engraved drawing on a clear field, read against the light. In the evening a point of light above every plate passes through the engraving and the drawing begins to glow from within: an architecture of light, a city of cathedrals suspended in the air.

Where it works

Spaces with high ceilings, stairwells, lofts, lobbies — wherever light should tell a story. The plates are produced in amber-gold, deep turquoise or graphite-clear — from warm intimacy to Gothic coolness.
