Lighting composition

A composition about a form between three things. The matte mantle reads as a calla flower, as a sail and as the wing of a ray — the author does not specify, because what they have in common matters more than the differences: all three glide.
Every element is curved its own way: the shoal lives, dives, turns. Gold winding stems rule the composition with a fine live graphic, like weed in a current.
By day it is white mantles on gold lines — a piece read through the plasticity of the curves and the graphic of the stems. In the evening the points at the tips of the stems light up, the matte whiteness glows evenly and without glare, and the gold goes into shadow: what remains are glowing figures gliding through the dark.
Where it works
Above a table, in a stairwell, in a double-height entrance hall. The composition has no principal angle — it is beautiful from everywhere and is placed where people walk around it.
Style
Marine modern and Art Nouveau: gliding as subject. The message is calm and plastic — a piece for an interior that loves a line.
The number of figures, the trajectory of the shoal and the scale are all made to order.
