Lighting composition
LC0489
A composition about a current stopped mid-movement. Every ribbon has a plasticity of its own: here a wave, there stretched cloth, there a jet of air. There are no two alike, because a current does not repeat itself.
In the mass there are hundreds of air bubbles; gold clasps catch the ribbon along its whole length. The fine suspensions dissolve into the dark, and the columns hover.
By day it is a clear forest of verticals: the bubbles read against the light, the ribbons as smooth waves, a piece light and almost invisible. In the evening light enters through the clasps and ignites the bubbles — the mass fills with sparks and the columns become luminous right through.
Where it works
Staircases, double-height living rooms, window displays, atriums. The forest of verticals is designed for a specific height and reads from several levels.
Style
Contemporary sculptural installation: the movement of water as a motif. The message is light and fluid — a piece for an interior that avoids stasis.
The number of ribbons, their heights and the density of the forest are all made to order.

Within the clear glass are scattered hundreds of tiny air bubbles that make the light three-dimensional and create an effect of inner shimmer. The fine suspensions all but vanish from view, so the composition reads as a light installation floating freely in the air. Brass accents emphasise the geometry of the glass and add a noble character to the object.
