A composition about a shoreline. Several different forms meet here — broad discs with a thick lens at the centre, curved white crescents, narrow curls, occasional gold bowls — and they are mixed without system. This is how the tideline lies: the unrelated ends up side by side.

The elements hang in layers, turned at random; the composition is drawn out horizontally with a ragged lower edge and a few pieces descending deeper than the rest.

By day it is a heap of shells — clear, white and gold intermixed, read through form. In the evening one and the same beam behaves in three ways: the clear discs gather it and give bright cores within their bodies, the white crescents diffuse it into soft patches, the gold bowls reflect it and flare hot. A shoreline lit from beneath.

Where it works

Generous rooms — lobbies, dining rooms, double-height living rooms, meeting rooms. The multi-level arrangement sets a lower limit: allow clearance beneath.

Style
