A composition about venation. A fine net of veins is pressed into the surface of every leaf — what in a real leaf is a supply system, not a drawing. The author uses that literally: in the evening it is precisely along the veins that the light runs.

The composition is drawn out on the diagonal: the leaves are turned at random, overlapping in places, elsewhere breaking away alone far from the group. The upper edge is ragged.

By day it is an armful of leaves caught in flight: clear mixed with amber, the composition read right through, with real depth. In the evening the clear ones pass the light and flare along the net of veins, while the amber ones fill with copper from within. A crown whose venation is alight.

Where it works

Generous rooms — lobbies, atria, double-height living rooms, winter gardens. Transparency gives depth when seen from the side: the piece is not hung tight to the ceiling.

Style

Art Nouveau and botanical modernism: the leaf as a classic motif. The message is natural and warm — a piece for an interior with greenery.
