A composition about lily of the valley at the scale of a chandelier. A small woodland flower is enlarged to the size of a formal piece — a device that changes the relationship: what used to be examined bending down now looks down from above.
The plasticity of the petals is alive: some flowers are open, others have barely unfurled — the bouquet breathes, because flowering is never synchronous. Gold pin fixings set fine accents.
By day it is a full white heart-shaped cascade: the flowers read through the plasticity of the petals, a bright and dressy piece. In the evening light burns in the bowl of every flower, the petals are lit from within, and the cascade glows a creamy warm white — bells whose cups have caught fire.
Where it works
Dining rooms, living rooms, stairwells, wedding and banqueting halls. The heart form requires a frontal view: the composition is hung on the axis of the room.
Style
Art Nouveau and romantic classicism: lily of the valley as a motif of spring. The message is tender and festive — a piece for a light interior.
The number of flowers, the shape of the cascade and the height are all made to order.
