LC0458
A composition about fur made of hoarfrost. Semicircular fans are built from a dense needled texture — what grows on branches over a frosty night: not smooth ice but a prickly pile.
The fans overlay each other in waves, like the scales or feathers of a giant bird; the arcs alternate gold and steel.
By day it is northern opulence: the needled mass catches daylight in thousands of points, a ceremonial and cold piece. In the evening light from under the arcs floods the needles, and every fan burns with a prickly radiance — hoarfrost that has caught fire from within.
Where it works
Lobbies, banqueting halls, reception rooms, showrooms. The wave assembly requires area: the composition is built wide rather than deep.
Style
Art Deco and Nordic Art Nouveau: fur and hoarfrost as motifs of luxury. The message is ceremonial — a piece for a formal space with a cold palette.
The number of fans, the balance of gold to steel and the dimensions are all made to order.
