A composition about a wave that has passed through an organ. A strict vertical of elements and a free curve of suspension — the whole piece rests on that contrast: the tubes hang plumb while the carrying branches bend in waves, and the field of pipes looks disturbed.

The surface of the tubes is alive, run down — like a candle that has already burned.

By day it is a milky field on dark branches: the composition reads through the rhythm of the verticals and the relief of the suspension. In the evening light fills the tubes from top to bottom in a warm gradient — from peach to milk — and each begins to look like a candle lit from inside. An organ whose pipes have caught fire.
