Lighting composition
LC0421
A composition about coral grown in air. The tees link into an extended structure hovering horizontally, and the differing orientation of the elements makes it alive and fluid — growth never goes in one direction.
The light lives inside and comes out through the openings — it is aimed nowhere in particular, it breathes out of the pores in soft warm patches.
By day it is a white glossy colony: a piece read through relief, voids and inner passages, complex when examined close up. In the evening the pores light up, the light is distributed unevenly, and the structure turns into a living organism for good.
Where it works
Lobbies, restaurants, spa areas, showrooms, gallery spaces. The horizontal extension requires length — the composition is built along rather than deep.
Style
Bio-design and organic Art Nouveau: the colony as a form with no author. The message is natural and contemporary — a piece for an interior with an agenda.
The length of the colony, the density of the linking and the number of glowing modules are all made to order.

@vargov_design →Light sculpture LC0421 This light composition is assembled from many ceramic elements. Each module recalls an organic form with openings from which warm light is softly born. The elements join into an extended spatial structure floating in the air on fine suspensions. The light is not directed — it ‘breathes’ from within, filling the form and emerging as soft light accents. Because of the varied orientation of the elements, the composition looks alive, flowing, as if in constant movement. Glossy ceramic reflects the light, heightening the depth and sculptural quality of the object, while a warm glow creates a sense of comfort and quiet. This composition works as a light sculpture — the centre of a space, the emotional accent of an interior. It fits organically into contemporary and art interiors, spaces with high ceilings, private residences and public areas.
