A composition about a flare. Curved tusks break out in every direction from a mirrored core — the sun at the moment of a prominence, a dandelion enlarged to a chandelier, a firework that will not go out. Three readings of one form, and all three about a release of energy.

There are bubbles in the mass of the tusks, some clear, some smoky. The core is mirrored — it gathers and returns everything around it.

By day it is an explosion caught in a freeze frame: clear rays and a mirrored centre, a piece living off reflections and changing with every step. In the evening every tusk is lit from its base — the rays run along the curves to the points, and the flare turns out to be lasting. The composition holds a room single-handed.

Where it works

Lobbies, atriums, double-height living rooms, showrooms. The spread in every direction requires free volume: nothing should be near the composition.

Style
