A composition about a city seen from above. The mass reads as blocks of differing height, narrow alleys between them, a light in every window. The lower edge is not levelled — it steps downward like the terrain the city was built on.

Inside every block lives a flowing texture, and above it rises a fine candle of light: the light enters from the top and passes right through the block.

By day it is an architectural model under the ceiling: pink-cognac blocks read through volume and inner drawing. In the evening the facets light up amber and the mass turns into a city seen at night from a plane. A second execution is clear instead of smoky: the same architecture, but cold, glacial, almost technical.

Where it works

Lobbies, meeting rooms, long dining rooms, reception desks. The stepped underside gives different heights above a zone — the composition is designed for a specific plan.

Style

Urban modernism and brutal opulence: the city as an ornament. The message is contemporary — a piece for an interior with an urban agenda.
