A composition about a bonfire drawn out along the ceiling. Every element is twisted helically: a white gloss face on one side, polished gold on the other. The light hides in the bend itself, and either the white flank or the gold reverse lights up — depending on where you look from.

The field is horizontal, dense, with a sagging centre. The alternation of white and gold creates a shimmer even in a motionless composition.

By day it is graphic work: white and gold bands read through the light and shade of the bends, a dense and dressy piece. In the evening the composition begins to seem alive, crackling — the light runs about the flanks, and no two viewpoints give the same drawing. A bonfire drawn out above the table.

A long table, a bar counter, a lobby — anywhere that needs a warm horizontal accent. The light goes down and to the side: the composition lights the table and the faces.

Style
