Decorative composition
LC0167
A composition about a ribbon of fire. Boats with sharp raised prows stand close and overlap, so the line reads as a continuous mass rather than a row of separate objects. The lower edge is wavy, the upper level — together they give the silhouette of a ribbon stretched below the ceiling.
Gold and pearl-white elements are mixed without system and turned at random: some show a burning interior, others a cool back. The rhythm is set not by spacing but by those orientations.
By day it is a ridge of shells — dense, metallic, read through silhouette. In the evening the hollows begin to work: the gold turns light into hot patches, the pearlescent diffuses it into a soft glow. Because the mass is dense the source never reads — what glows is the ribbon itself, a band of fire stretched above the table.
Where it works
An elongated horizontal format — long dining tables, bar counters, meeting rooms, reception areas. A continuous mass gives more light than a sparse composition of the same size.
Style
Contemporary Art Deco: white with gold, a streamlined form, rhythm instead of ornament. The message is representative — a piece for a table where people are received.
The length of the ribbon, the number of elements, the ratio of gold to pearlescent and the drop heights are all made to order.
