A composition about a cave. A stalactite grows drop by drop over thousands of years — a form made entirely of time. The upper edge of the composition is level, the lower one wavy: a section through a cave where growth has been uneven.

Each faceted drop with its slight twist hangs on its own rod with a glowing point at the end, the rods varying in length. Bare rods are set between them — they work as hatching and give depth.

By day the composition reads graphically, through hatching alone: clear forms, fine lines, almost a technical drawing. In the evening the light travels from the point straight into the body, refracts on every rib and flares at the base of the drop, while the rod itself stays invisible. Because the array is dense, the light passes from drop to drop and the whole volume begins to glow — a row of icicles hung above the table.

Where it works

An elongated horizontal format — long dining tables, bar counters, meeting rooms, reception areas. The wavy lower edge sets varying heights above the table: the piece goes where people sit beneath it.

Style

Organic minimalism and contemporary classicism: a geological form without decoration. The message is restrained — a piece for an interior that avoids ornament.
