A composition about a scarf picked up at its centre. The material is suspended from a single point and falls freely in folds — a form that cannot be designed, only allowed. Each element settles its own way: two folds here, four there, a corner lifted somewhere else.

The longitudinal ribbing reads clearly and serves the image: this is how ribbed fabric hangs. The elements sit on fine rods with conical holders above and gather in a dense group at varied levels, with a wavy lower edge.

By day it is fabric frozen in the act of falling: a warm smoky tone, translucent, with clear hatching and its own shadows inside the folds. In the evening the light enters from above and runs down along the ribbing — every fold glows in strokes and flares more brightly at the breaks. A row of glowing scarves.

Where it works

Living rooms with high ceilings, dining rooms, lobbies, banquet halls. The folds read from the side: the piece is hung at eye level rather than overhead.

Style

Contemporary sculpture and Baroque drapery in a minimalist reading. The message is expressive — a piece for a space that needs a gesture.
