A composition about a crumpled sheet. Each plate has been crushed and smoothed out again — creases, folds and torn corners preserved entirely. The author fixes the moment when the sheet has already been spoiled but not yet thrown away.
The plates stand vertically, slightly turned, laid in layers. The top is ragged — individual sheets rise above the main mass — and the bottom is wavy; the array is deliberately uneven.
By day it is a heap of sheets thrown into the air: mirrored gold mixed with matte white, a random pattern of highlights. In the evening the crumpled gold reflects the light unevenly, in bands along the folds, flaring sharply, while the white diffuses it softly and holds a calm ground. The composition reads as an alternation of hot and cold rather than a single mass.
Where it works
An elongated horizontal format — long dining tables, lobbies, meeting rooms, reception areas. The ragged upper edge needs clearance to the ceiling.
Style
Contemporary art and minimalism: chance as form. The message is bold — a piece for an interior with no taste for the smooth.
The length, the number of plates and the ratio of gold to white are all made to order.
