A composition about a quiet dialogue. Discs of two characters — matte white with radial pleating and clear with a faceted radial drawing — hold a conversation in which neither shouts the other down.

At the centre of each is a golden accent that gathers the disc the way a button gathers cloth.

By day the composition works through texture: relief, facets, the warm glimmer of the cores; the cloud opens slowly as you walk around it — behind a matte disc a clear one flares, and behind that another matte one. In the evening the roles diverge: the matte ones hold a soft shadow, the clear ones light from within, and the cloud shimmers like a bloom of jellyfish in dark water.
