Hoarfrost enlarged to the size of a palm. Inside each plate needles radiate from the centre — the drawing winter makes on a window overnight and erases by noon.

Here it is arrested. The light stands exactly at the centre of the pattern and ignites the whole of it, turning every element into a snowflake under a magnifier.

A crumpled edge and a gold border argue with the coldness of the drawing. The piece lives off that argument: ice graphics in a warm setting.

By day the thickness produces powerful distortion: through one plate you see the next, refracted and enlarged — a depth that should not exist in a flat object. In the evening the light stands exactly at the centre of the pattern and ignites the whole of it, turning every element into a snowflake under a magnifier.
