Lighting composition
LC0553
A composition about a balance of opposites. The white glossy boat-shapes open with a soft glow from within; the chrome ones work by pure reflection, breaking an interior into highlights. Softness and cold shine gathered into one form.
The cloud is dense and low; light passes between the surfaces and is reflected back and forth in the facets.
By day the chrome elements gather the room while the white ones hold a quiet background: the cloud seems to reassemble slowly as you walk past. In the evening the white ones light from within while the chrome ones go on only reflecting — and the piece separates for good into two parts sounding together.
Where it works
Living rooms, dining rooms, meeting rooms, lobbies. The low cloud requires no great height and suits medium ceilings.
Style
Contemporary minimalism and Art Deco: two behaviours of light as a device. The message is restrained — a piece for an interior that loves a nuance.
The size and density of the cloud and the ratio of white to chrome are all made to order.
