A composition as quotation. The silhouette of an old chandelier pendant is enlarged and cleared of everything surplus: the shaped, almost lacework contour remains and everything that made it tinsel is removed. The form is recognisable, the execution minimal.

The faceting runs only along the edge and catches light, scattering it as rainbow sparks; the smooth centre stays clear and the neighbouring pendants are visible through it. The cascade is assembled in tiers and converges into a sharp wedge.

By day it is clear lacework graphic with gold candles between the elements — a piece read through contours and overlays. In the evening the faceted edges flare into rainbow while the smooth centres stay dark: the cascade glows around its edges and remains transparent within.

Where it works

Entrance halls, dining rooms, stairwells, reception rooms. The wedge below sets the lowest point — clearance is needed under the composition.

Style

Contemporary classic: baroque retold in the language of minimalism. The message is representative — a piece for an interior that respects tradition without copying it.
