Lighting composition
LC0551
A composition about a moment that changes along with the viewer. From different angles the piece reads differently: now a current, now a flowering, now a firework stopped at its peak. No one reading is the principal one — the author leaves them all.
Clear relief fans with a fine inner texture are gathered into a layered cascade; at the core of each is a glossy gold sphere, a point of jewel precision.
By day the composition reads close up through the texture of the relief and from a distance through the overall movement of the cascade: two scales of perception in one piece. In the evening light slides along the folds, breaks up in the relief and gathers as highlights on the gold — every fan becomes a separate impulse of light, and together they give a living crystalline structure.
Where it works
Living rooms, dining rooms, lobbies, stairwells. The layered cascade requires height and reads from a distance.
Style
Art Deco and contemporary sculpture: the fold and the sphere as the entire vocabulary. The message is formal — a piece for an interior that greets.
The shape of the cascade, the number of fans and the height are all made to order.
