A composition about a canopy and a flock at once. White feathers with a wavy, live plasticity are intermixed with dark green leaves — the shadow of foliage within plumage, and the composition reads two ways at once, choosing neither.

Warm points of light hide deep in the mass and lift the feathers from within.

By day it is a fresh white-and-green mass: the gloss multiplies daylight, the green gives depth, and the piece reads through the plasticity of individual elements. In the evening light from the depth lifts the feathers from inside, the green leaves stay dark, and the cloud acquires volume — what glows is not the surface but the interior.
