Light as art

Decorative composition

LC0473

A composition about an ornament torn loose. Carved acanthus leaves — the very ones that grow on Corinthian capitals — have been torn off by the wind and circle in a free vortex. Ornament separated from architecture and let go.

Every element is independent, yet together they form a complex, almost natural rhythm — asymmetric, alive, new every time you walk around it.

By day the gold leaves burn with reflected light even with no lamps on while the white ones hold purity and rhythm: the piece works on daylight alone. In the evening the mirrored gold picks up artificial light and flares sharply, the white diffuses it softly — the vortex acquires a rhythm of temperature on top of its rhythm of form.

Where it works

Living rooms, lobbies, reception rooms, stairwells, boutiques. The free vortex is designed for a specific volume and has no front.

Style

Baroque and contemporary sculpture: a classical ornament lifted out of its context. The message is bold — a piece for an interior that knows how to quote.

The number of leaves, the proportion of gold and the scale of the vortex are all made to order.
