A composition about weight that does not press. Voluminous folded forms drawn together at a gold knot read as pouches tied with a cord, or as buds an instant before opening — as something full and heavy. And they hover all the same.

The play of weight against weightlessness is the piece's principal trick, and it rests on one detail: the knot at the top looks like a gathering rather than a suspension.

By day it is dense folded volumes — clear and smoky, read through the plasticity of the folds, a piece that looks substantial. In the evening the light traces every fold along its edge, and the mass becomes outlined rather than filled: the heavy turns out to be empty.

Where it works

Living rooms, dining rooms, lobbies, reception rooms, boutiques. Voluminous forms require height — pressed to the ceiling, they lose their plasticity.

Style

Contemporary sculpture and Art Deco: drapery as a form. The message is expressive — a piece for an interior that needs a gesture.
